Putting the “personal” back in “personal computer”

September 2nd, 2009   |   Author: Chris Sully

Months ago, two of us sat in a room, unfamiliar with one another, joined by chance.  Tucker had to come to visit me at my office as part of a school project.  It only took a few minutes to confirm what I already knew after reading just one email from him, he knew computers.

Unfortunately, Tucker is part of a minority in this country.  No offense to anyone reading this, but most people really only know how to use a very small portion of the tools that they have at their disposal.  I am specifically talking about their computer.  Today, pretty much everyone has at least 1 in their home, if not 2 or 3.  We bought them, we got them home and set them up and then…..

What do we do now?

What do we do now?

That is where we come in.  At JumpstartMyPC.com we are going to focus on gathering and sharing the best tools, tricks, web sites, hardware and deals we can find.  We will spend time on the straight forward topics like anti-virus software and backing up your system but we will also venture into the gray with topics like using Twitter and how to get a great deal on just about any web site.  The common theme will always be getting the most out of your PC.

You bought this wonderful tool and now it is time to start using all the bells and whistles that came out of the box with it.  It doesn’t matter if that PC is 5 years, 5 months or 5 days old.   We will share short, bite-sized pieces of information in the form of daily blog posts, Facebook updates and Tweets (Twitter messages).  Join us in whatever way you feel comfortable.  We’ll make sure you get all the great information that we have to offer.

The best part of all of this,  you don’t have to go searching for the information.  It is going to be delivered to you.

If only everything was this easy.
