When my 6 year old laptop began to slow down I decided that I was going to fix the problem. I didn’t have any extra cash for a new laptop and I really didn’t see a reason to add another monthly payment to the collection. As I researched topics like “speed up computer” and “computer slow” I quickly found several themes and one of them was cleaning the Windows Registry. I didn’t know what that was, but it sounded like an important piece of the puzzle, so I set out to learn more.
I ran across this definition. “The Windows Registry is an essential system file that houses a massive collection of details about your computer–where programs are stored, which helper programs (known as DLLs) are shared among your various applications, listings of all your Start-menu shortcuts, and pointers to the programs that fire up when you click on an icon.” – Steve Bass, PCWorld article titled How to Clean Your Windows Registry and Speed Up Your PC.
I was shocked to find that Windows continues to add to this registry as time goes on but seldom, if ever, removes the entries that are no longer needed. Other applications add to the registry as well, further complicating things and, in time, slowing your computer down. The more time goes by, the more your computer slows. Thankfully, there are some software programs that were designed to combat this issue. After reading countless articles and doing a little real-time testing on my own system I found Abexo Registry Cleaner.
Abexo Registry Cleaner analyzes the registry and removes the old, unnecessary items from the list. It is fast and efficient and, in the testing I have done, does not cause any system problems. It is important to note that some other programs have been known to cause major issues by deleting a few too many files.
Download and try Abexo Registry Cleaner on your personal computer and see what a difference it makes. You can visit Abexo’s web site or the Tools page on JumpstartMyPC.com for the download link. Be sure to back up your registry first, as explained by Abexo’s instructions, just in case there is an issue. If you have a backup, you can always restore your computer in the event of any issues.
