Interesting issue. There are many things that might have an impact on your wireless connection like wireless phones, distance from the modem/router, a bad piece of hardware (your TiVo wireless adapter), etc. Personally, I have switched to using a wired connection for most everything in my house. I too was having issues with my connection occasionally. Is there any way you can switch to a wired connection?

I'm having problems with connection dropping with my tivo premire to my clear home modem. they say you can hook 8-10 devices up to it. I have no problem with my laptops just my tivo. Ihave the wireless adapter needed for tivo to connect, but like I said it keeps dropping and I have to reconnect which can be a hassle at times. My question is if I hook a router up to my clear device will i still have the same issues?

@mis-managed - Thanks for the comment.
I have read some information on this since originally posting the article above. I haven't personally experienced any issues, but then I honestly don't do a lot of streaming video. I have used CLEAR for downloads and seem to get a very consistent, fast speed for hours at a time.

Just wait, it is awesome at first, but THEN. Then what? Then you get 'managed' (read throttled) for using the connection for video streaming. They advertise it streams video, but if you do watch out.

More info here:

@Georg_rodgz : I'd be happy to help with any questions you have. Do you have any specific questions after reading the article?

As far as making a purchase, I would urge you to visit the CLEAR website. They offer great deals (that you can't get anywhere else) and have tons of great info. The one thing you MUST do is find out how close you are to a tower. Any rep can use you home address to determine distance from the closest tower. If you are within 1 - 1.5 miles you should get phenomenal service.

thanks for the info.....i am moving to another apartment in a couple of months and really need to start looking around for an internet service provider.....i've seen CLEAR almost everywhere I go and decided to start my "research". Some people have started trying to steer me towards ATT service, but I just cannot get past all the supposed restrictions i've heard they've got.
My main selling point would definitely be speed and availability. Do you think you could give me a little more information about this product??
