We’ve Reached our 100th Post! Helping PC Users Everywhere

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Can you remember all the way back to September 2nd, 2009?  That is when it all started.  The JumpstartMyPC.com blog began with the simple concept of helping PC users get the most out of their computer and has been posting new updates almost every weekday since then.  We have provided FREE information on topics ranging from “Decorating Your Desktop” to “Defragging Your Hard Drive” and everything in between.  Today we reach post/article number 100 and we would just like to say THANK YOU to all of our supporters.  We hope that, along the way, you learned something new and truly found a way to get a little more out of your computer.

No single article could truly capture the excitement and pride that I feel right now so, in the spirit of every long-running television show, we would like to provide you with a look back at our most popular posts.

Why Should I Care About a Blog?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

rss-250x300What is a blog?  A year or two ago, most people had no idea what a blog was or why they would ever want to read one.  Now, blogging is part of everyday life and most of us are familiar with the concept and even follow a blog or two.  As we near our 100th blog post (today we hit 86), I thought it would be fitting to take some time to explain blogs and the programs available for readers and would-be bloggers.

A blog (web log) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.  Many blogs provide commentary on a particular subject while others function as more personal online diaries. (definition taken from wikipedia.com)  Although the term “weblog” was coined in 1997, it has only been over the past few years that the majority of us have become familiar with the concept.

You Can Learn a lot From Zombies….. Seriously!

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Our main concern here at JumpstartMyPC.com has always been helping PC users get the most out of their computer, but today, just 1 day before Halloween, we thought we might change our focus slightly.  Experts have predicted an outbreak in your area, but this is not the kind of virus that can be fought off with the likes of avast! or AVG anti-virus software.   No, this is much more serious.  See the video below for details.

BETA testing begins today

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

It is a huge day for JumpstartMyPC.com.  Not only are we about to begin BETA testing (see below), but we have a birthday in the “family.”   Tucker (one of our founding fathers) is celebrating his birthday on the same day as our BETA launch.  As if that were not enough to celebrate, we are also launching the blog section of the site.  This is the first official post of the blog.  Welcome!

BETA Testing – We have been working for months to build our business and we are ready to begin sharing with the world… or at least a portion of it.  Later today, our family, friends and Facebook fans (say that 5 times fast) will receive the BETA instructions and begin testing the site.  It is our hope that this small window of BETA testing will help fine-tune our site and get it ready for it’s official, global launch.

We look forward to many more blog posts and a successful venture in JumpstartMyPC.com.  Our goal, as we will undoubtedly repeat over and over, will be to help PC users get the most out of their computer.
